Look Back at 2015

2015 was an eventful and successful year for Joblink Plus. We placed over 5,400 job seekers into work and supported thousands more through various programs and initiatives.

July1, 2015 brought the start of a new 5 year contract with the Department of Employment. jobactive is an Australian Government initiative that aims to re-engage job seekers with employment services providers and offer communities employment solutions. We expanded into Central West, with sites in Orange, Parkes, Bathurst, Forbes and more. We are also as far west as Broken Hill where we deliver jobactive and Disability Employment Services (DES). The addition of these sites represents approximately a 43 per cent increase in business , the Joblink Plus footprint now covers approximately 60 per cent of New South Wales.

In 2015 we expanded our social enterprises with the establishment of SEE Change Cafe located in the Tamworth Regional Youth Centre (The Youthie). SEE Change cafe produces great coffee, food and grocery items, as well as providing training for people in need of experience and skill development in the hospitality industry. Joblink Plus now has SEE Change Cafe in addition to e-link as social enterprises offering training and opportunity to the local community.

On Christmas Day, 2015 Joblink Plus held a Community Christmas Celebration at the Youthie in Tamworth. The celebration offered a place to be, good food to eat and people to be with for those in the Tamworth community that would otherwise miss out at Christmas time. The event included a buffet lunch, barbeque and a game of cricket for the Tamworth community. Over 70 people were in attendance and there were just as many volunteers on the day to help with lunch and the day's activities. The event was a fantastic success and Joblink Plus plans to have the event in other regions in 2016.

In 2015 Joblink Plus continued our support of the Tamworth Regional Careers and Business Expo facilitating over 60 exhibitors and over 1,000 attendees. Joblink Plus also continued our ongoing support of the Tamworth Quality Business Awards in conjunction with the Tamworth Business Chamber.

With a huge 2015 behind us, the staff of Joblink Plus have dived into 2016 head first - we're the exclusive provider of Transition to Work (new initiative for 15 - 21 year olds) in Far West Orana and Broken Hill and held the first big Employer Engagement Day on February 3. Thousands of Employers across our footprint were contacted and hundreds of employment opportunities were identified. Our commitment to linking people who need work with local Employers is stronger than ever, and 2016 is shaping up to be bigger and better than 2015. Thanks for your support!
