Resume Samples
When you're seeking employment, your resume is your main marketing tool. It should be an advertisement which makes an employer want to meet you.
Resumes need to be:
- Concise
- Informative, and
- Easy to read
- Never more than 2 - 3 pages long.
Details to include in your resume include:
Personal Details - Name, address and contact details to allow employers to contact you. Make sure all details are correct.
Education and Training - Include the school you are currently attending or the year of completion. If your academic results are impressive, include them also. Include any tertiary education or training (eg. University or TAFE studies, completion of RSA & RCG).
Employment History - List your employment history in chronological order and include how long you were employed for, your position and the duties you performed.
Referees - Include the name, address and telephone numbers of at least two referees. Ensure your referees aren't relatives and try to include at least one employment related referee. Never put a person down as a referee unless you have gained their permission first.
