Developing skills through community participation
Joblink Plus Community Activity Projects give people in need of work experience the opportunity to gain hands-on skills through participation in meaningful local projects. Past activities have included landscaping and gardening, painting, construction of playgrounds and cultural meeting places, the renovation and upkeep of community halls, the maintenance of local landmarks, and more.
The hosts for our Community Activity Projects include community organisations such as healthcare clinics, charities, men’s sheds, model railways, First Nations support services, and local councils. No two hosts are alike and no two projects are the same!
Many of our Community Activity Projects lead to direct employment or ongoing volunteering, with participants often choosing to stay on at their host organisation. These projects benefit both the participant and the community, strengthening the connection between individuals and their local area through meaningful experiences and collaboration.
